Chico da Silva was an unprecedented phenomenon in the artistic world of Brazil. He was the author of a painting that almost all of our parents and grandparents had on the wall of their homes, brought as a souvenir from a trip to the exotic and sunny Northeast of Brazil in the 70s. His professional beginnings were painful, but later revered, appearing in our imagination. of him as that of a pure and naive artist... which in a certain way was true. His clients and critics of his work saw an Amazonian, creative and pure ancestry in the creation of his painting inhabited by fantastic fauna.
